Q&A Wednesday . . .

I am using what I am buying, are you?

Do you believe in what you are selling?  When you look at your product or service offerings and put on your client glasses would you purchase your products at the prices you have them listed?  If you laugh and answer no way, then maybe you need to reevaluate a tiny bit.

Please do not read the above as LOWER your prices!

I simply mean how can you add more value, how can you feel more comfortable asking for those prices?  I have two businesses; 1] Get Schooled Photo 2] Peachtree Studio Seniors. When I look at both my businesses and ask the above question would I buy what I have to offer it is a RESOUNDING yes with Get Schooled Photo.  I love learning and I love connecting photographers with outstanding contributors. I am a huge advocate of buying guides and templates. I have purchased everything Danielle LaPorte has to offer, I gobble up the Photo Vision DVDs that arrive in the mail. I love to learn.  So yes, yes, yes, I would buy and use what Get Schooled Photo has to offer and at the price points.

Then I look at Peachtree Studio Seniors . . .

Yes, I would pay the booking fee no problem.
Yes, I would have a great time and enjoy the client experience.
Yes, I would love the help of an in-person order appointment.
Yes, I would appreciate that I am not required to order a minimum.

Ok now on to the cold hard facts. . .

No, I would not be a fan of the collections, I would want cooler products.
No, I would be frustrated by the lack of session options.
No, I would  find it a little odd that the blog is so dead.
No, I would be annoyed with the time it takes to receive my order. [that is a big one]

It is a hard pill to swallow. The ‘I am not doing my best‘ pill!

Let me tell you, once you choke down that horse size pill and it starts to dissolve in your belly thanks to the big glass of milk. It feels better.

I encourage you to sit down right now and look at your business with honesty, with truth with the eyes of a client and figure out what would you LOVE and Not so much love about being your client?  Jot it down and then change it.

I know it may seem oddly simple but it’s so true. Identify your weakness and change. To be an amazing business person you have to be willing to change, to be better and to continue every day.

I heard an amazing quote by Eban Pegan somewhere . . . ‘A business is made up of doing the right actions everyday!  Let that sink in. There is no end, there is no fast track or quick tip to riches. It is simply doing the right things everyday.  That will grow a successful profitable business. AMEN
